Forgotten (poetry)

“Forgotten” by Mykell Hatcher-McLarin 5/13/14

I didn’t forget. I never forgot. I just block out memories long enough to remember that I forgot them. That I forgot them. What were we talking about? I forgot them words you were saying. Something about a memory long since past 10 years 9 months 8 weeks 7 days 6 hours 5 minutes 4 seconds 3 milliseconds 2 long ago to remember 1 word. I um forgot that I did remember when you said “Goodbye” and disappeared…from…my…I think I lost my memory. What were we talking about again? I think I forgot. But no, I don’t forget. I never forgot. I always remember that I wanted to forget.
